Season Ends For Trojans
Posted by Luis Cuevas on Mar 15, 2013 - 2:30:52 PM

LOS ANGELES—On Wednesday, March 13, the USC basketball season ended with a loss to Utah. A mad scramble for the ball in the last eight seconds to tie the game didn’t work for the Trojans.

Utah seeded tenth in the Pac-12 tournament conference, beat seventh seeded USC 69-66 in the first round game at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. USC was without seven foot junior Dewayne Dedmon and seven-foot senior

James Blaszyck who were suspended for being out past curfew and getting involved in brawls in downtown Spokane, Washington. Blaszyck won’t be eligible to play anymore and Dewayne Dedmon can opt out if he decided to enter the NBA draft.

Interim Coach Bob Cantu said it was a probability he wouldn’t be back. Seniors Jio Fontan and Wise were crying after the loss to Utah. Wise who finished the game with nine points on 4-for-11 shooting said he was crying, because he didn’t fight enough, as he should have.

After Utah took their biggest lead with 60-47 with eight minutes left the Trojans began their frantic comeback getting to within a point of Utah. Dubois of Utah hit a three pointer and USC didn’t come closer than three points the rest of the game. The Trojans (14-18) will have a long time to think about their final loss of the season.
