Spurs Take 3-2 Lead In Finals

SAN ANTONIO—On Sunday, June 17, the San Antonio Spurs pushed the Miami Heat to the brink of elimination with a game five win. The Spurs won 114-104 to put themselves within one game of their fifth NBA championship.

Manu Ginobili of the Spurs received his first start of the season, which he used to break out of his slump scoring 24 points and handing out 10 assists. Tony Parker had 26 points, Kawhi Leonard had 16 points and Tim Duncan had 17 points. The star of this series, Danny Green scored 24 points including six three-pointers to break the record with 25 three-pointers for the most in a NBA Finals series previously held by Ray Allen with 22 who is on the Miami Heat.

 

Dwayne Wade led the Heat with 25 points, 10 assists and four rebounds. Lebron James also had 25 points including eight assists, six rebounds and four steals. Chris Bosh had 16 points and Ray Allen came off the bench with 21 points including four-for-four from behind the three-point line.

 

The best of seven games series between the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat will continue on Tuesday in Miami with game six.
