Team USA Blasts Argentina

LONDON, ENG—Team USA Basketball completed Olympic pool play today with a 126-97 victory against Argentina.

Argentina had given Team USA a run for their money in a pre-Olympic exhibition tournament held in Spain. The Americans were able to get a 5-point win, but doubt had begun to set in on whether Team USA was in fact, unbeatable.
After beating Lithuania by just five points on Saturday, the Americans struggled to get any separation in the first half against Argentina.
In the second half, however, Team USA pulled away behind Kevin Durant's 28 points. A 60-59 halftime lead became 102-76 by the end of the third quarter.
The U.S. made 20 three pointers, eight of which came from Durant.
With the win, the U.S. goes undefeated in pool play and wins Group A. They now move to the knockout stage and will face Australia on Wednesday.
