Joseph Frazier Benefit Showcase At School
Posted by Amanda Macke on Sep 19, 2013 - 2:18:11 PM

CALABASAS—The third annual Joseph Frazier Benefit Showcase will be held at Calabasas High School inside the gymnasium on Sunday, September 29, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The event will bring over a dozen high school boys basketball teams from the area to compete and raise donation funds for the Calabasas Coyotes’ former assistant basketball coach, Joseph Frazier. On August 25, 2011, Frazier was a victim of a hit-and-run motorcycle accident that left him critically injured.

The Calabasas  boys basketball Head Coach, Jon Palarz, told Canyon News via email that KROQ Radio, Bob Smith BMW of Calabasas and Barry’s Tickets would sponsor this year’s showcase. “We will raffle and/or hold a silent auction of various items, such as tickets to Lakers and Clippers games and an upcoming Depeche Mode concert courtesy of Barry’s Tickets,” wrote Palarz.

Since its inception two years ago, the Joseph Frazier Benefit Showcase has raised approximately $30,000 for the Joseph Frazier Special Needs Trust. In 2011, NBA players such as Ryan Hollins, Craig Smith, Trevor Ariza, Aaron Affalo and Nick Young attended the basketball fundraiser.
