Posted by Aaron Jones on Aug 24, 2011 - 11:59:16 PM

BEL AIR—According to the Bel Air Association Blog, some major night construction can be expected in the vicinity of the I-405 and Sunset Bridge. It went on to say that the deck of the new Sunset Bridge will be poured for three nights, requiring “Directional full freeway closures and full closures of Sepulveda Blvd. and Sunset Blvd.”

The deck pour will begin to take place Tuesday, August 23, northbound 405 from Montana Avenue to Moraga Drive from 12 midnight to 5 a.m. and Sunset Bridge from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. On Monday, August 29, work will commence on southbound 405 from Sunset off ramp to Wilshire Blvd. from 12 midnight to 5 a.m., and on Sunset Bridge from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. On Wednesday, August, 31 construction will take place from Sepulveda Blvd from Montana Avenue to Church Lane and Sunset Bridge from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

As a result of the construction, the following can be expected; freeway lane reduction may start at 10 p.m., freeway traffic will be detoured off the freeway to Sepulveda Blvd, to the next available on-ramp. Additionally, eastbound Sunset Blvd traffic will be detoured to North Church Lane, to Sepulveda Blvd, to Sepulveda Way, back to Sunset Blvd; also westbound Sunset Blvd will be detoured to Sepulveda Way, to Sepulveda Blvd, to Church Lane, back to Sunset Blvd.

Pedestrians will be rerouted to an area outside the construction zone. Sunset ramps will be closed, and closures may begin daily as early as 7 p.m. and will coordinated with Caltrans.

Emergency access however will be maintained.
