Fun For All At The Beverly Glen Fair
Posted by Ivetta Babadjanian on May 7, 2014 - 2:00:21 PM

BEL AIR—The Beverly Glen will be hosting its 54th Annual Residents of Beverly Glen Fair where the community comes together every year to celebrate art and entertainment in all its forms.

The event will be held on Sunday, June 1 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a wide variety of attractions that will appeal to the whole family. Performances from local musicians, a barbershop quartet and a belly dancer are only some of the great activities lined up for this year's fair.

A total of 25 vendors will be at the event selling items such as home decor, clothing, accessories, art and more. The local police department and fire department will also attend the event as they will allow children to take a peek inside fire trucks and police motorcycles.

The fair was founded by Beverly Glen resident Chris Holabird in 1960 where he first met his wife, Rhoda. Holabird is known for playing the bagpipes for the fair's opening followed by the Playground Children's Parade. The fair is held as a fundraiser for the Residents of the Beverly Glen and Beverly Glen Playgroup.

"A resident’s association, a community center, annual social activities, charming homes and gardens, convenient markets and stores and friendly neighbors -- Beverly Glen may be the ideal community," states the community's website.

"The ambiance is similar to that of a small town fair, but it's only five minutes away from the city. It's a very sweet environment," said Social Events Chair, Sharalee Flesche. A full time broker for Beverly Glen Realty, Flesche has lived in Beverly Glen since 2008. Flesche strives to make sure everyone in attendance has an incredibly unique experience that will ensure their return in upcoming years.

This year's contributions for the fair from local businesses include The Glen Market at Crater Lane, Glen Market at Glen Circle, Beverly Glen Deli and Fabrocini's Beverly Glen. In addition, Beverly Glen Realty will donate wine for attendees to treat themselves with wine tasting. Many residents will continue the giving spirit by providing a variety of salads and dishes to be served at the BBQ buffet.

Donated items will be raffled off during this year's fair to which a portion will be donated to assist resident Jane Padgett. Also featuring a tie die booth and a photo booth, the Beverly Glen Fair has so many aspects simply awaiting to be explored.

The annual fair allows all 650 residents in the community the opportunity to share their passions with others be it through art, music, food or dance. So gather all your loved ones to the Beverly Glen Fair and treat yourselves to a day full of laughter.

Entrance to the fair is $5 for non-member, while members of Beverly Glen can enter for free. The fair will be located on the 2200 block of Beverly Glen Place, Bel Air 90077. For more information, visit beverlyglen.org or call (310) 967-9025.
