Rupert Murdoch Purchases Bel Air Vineyard

BEL AIR—The Australian American media mogul has reportedly bought a vineyard in Bel Air. The property which Rupert Murdoch is interested in grosses at around $29.5 million. With 13 acres of land, the property houses Moraga Vineyards and Winery which has been owned by Tom and Ruth Jones since 1959.

In addition, the land also includes a 7,500 square foot home that was built in 1940 by director Victor Fleming, a wine cave, guest house and a 4,400 square foot office. Tom and Ruth Jones are reportedly ready to sell the property to someone else who will carry on their traditions.

The purchase of the property is still an ongoing process, but Murdoch took to twitter saying, “About to celebrate buying beautiful small vineyard in LA.”

In the past, Murdoch has reportedly discussed wanting to own the Los Angeles Times and is currently being pushed to step down from his position as chairman of News Corp. Currently, he owns an eleven bedroom home in Beverly Hills in addition to two New York City properties.
