Beverly Hills Names Six Historical Landmarks

BEVERLY HILLS—The city of Beverly Hills added six landmarks to the Register of Historic Properties at a formal meeting on January 24.

The six historic properties were also recognized at a national level and were recommended by the Cultural Heritage Commission to be considered on the register of historic properties for Beverly Hills.

They include the Virginia Robinson Estate (the first luxury estate built in Beverly Hills), the Beverly Hills Women’s Club (which promotes social, cultural, educational, and philanthropic programs in the area), the Greystone Mansion (used for rental of weddings and other private events), the Beverly Hills Post Office, the Anderton Court (located on Rodeo Drive), and the Karisik House.

A recent press released stated that all establishments have been recognized for their importance to the history of Beverly Hills, their relation to important events in local history, their composition as a result of a work of a master architect, their association with the lives of significant people, and their distinctive characteristics including style, type, period, and method of construction.
