The CERT program is "designed to teach a person to help themselves, family and neighbors in a disaster situation," as stated on the Beverly Hills CERT webpage. Training includes disaster preparedness, fire safety, disaster medical and first aid, search and rescue, disaster psychology and team organization. This course does not require previous emergency knowledge for participation.

Training days include Wednesday, February 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, February 9 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.,
Saturday, February 23 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday, March 2 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  In order to be considered a CERT graduate, residents must attend all four classes as make-up classes will not be offered.

Those who wish to be involved in the classes are urged to register as soon as possible due to limited space. Residents can register by going to www.beverlyhills.org/certclass or through the Community Services Winter Brochure.

For more information call (310) 281-2754 or email CERT@beverlyhills.org.
