BEVERLY HILLS—On Wednesday, December 12, The Catholic Church of the Good Shepherd in will be celebrating its annual mass in anniversary of Our Lady of Guadalupe’s apparition in Mexico City, Mexico in 1531. The Church of the Good Shepherd was established on the same day as the Virgin of Guadalupe’s feast in 1923; next year will celebrate 90 years since it was built.
On Wednesday, the parish will play mariachi music during the mass celebration. After the religious gathering, mariachi music will continue playing for visitors to enjoy and will be accompanied with a Mexican feast. This is the sixth year that the church has hosted the celebration of the Virgin of Guadalupe, which will take place starting at 7:30 p.m. The church is located on 504 North Bedford Drive in Beverly Hills, CA 90210. The Church of the Good Shepherd is not only a house of worship, but it was also the setting of the 1954 film, “A Star Is Born,” where Judy Garland, James Mason and Jack Carson starred in.
