Coldwater Canyon Avenue To Close This Month
Posted by Luis Cuevas on Mar 5, 2013 - 6:56:41 PM
MULHOLLAND—On Tuesday, March 5 it was announced that starting on March 23, Coldwater Canyon Avenue will be closed due to construction.
ColdwaterCanyon located between
Ventura Boulevard and
Mulholland Drive will be closed due to a problematic 100-year-old water main, which will be replaced as a part of an ongoing city trunk line replacement project.

Beginning March 9, there will be no left turns allowed from
Coldwater Canyon Avenue North or South on
Ventura Boulevard. The road will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays. On Saturdays the street will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Overnight and on Sundays one lane will be open in each direction.
The LADWP is working with residents, schools, churches, and businesses to allow local access. The work on the water main will last about one month, concluding on April 23. About 1,300 cars travel hourly along this intersection during peak hours. This will be an obstacle for travelers coming from and going to the valley and residents in the area.
The LADWP is working closely with City Councilmen Paul Krekorian to insure that residents concerns and issues are addressed. Alternate routes for drivers commuting through this area are
Laurel Canyon Boulevard,
Beverly Glen Boulevard,
Sepulveda Boulevard and the 405 interstate.
