BEVERLY HILLS—For the fourth year in a row, the Greystone Mansion Concours d’Elegance will showcase vintage lineup of automobiles and motorcycles for a fundraiser to the prestigious and historic landmark of Greystone.
The City of Beverly Hills’ Community Services Department announced the event which will display vehicles ranging from 100 years ago. A tour will also be presented of the Greystone mansion itself which is known for being a common location for many television and film productions.
The rarely accessible interior features the infamous bowling alley used at the end of 2007’s "There Will Be Blood" and backdrops used in the 1998 cult classic "The Big Lebowski."
Greystone mansion most notably belonged to the Doheny family, a rich family who were oil tycoons in Los Angeles in the early 1900s.
This year, automobiles and motorcycles from 1914 and earlier will be on display as part of the “Centennial Class.” Vehicles no earlier than 1975 will also be part of the event’s lineup and the show will also see two special tributes to the Corvette and Porsche 911 RS, which celebrate their 60th and 40th years respectively.
The show has become one of the city’s most popular events, and will soon be honored with the Lee Iacocca Award for Classic Car Shows for its lavish promotion of vehicles. The Speaker Series will also include seminars featuring authors Robert S. Anderson, Clark Fogg and Emmy Award-winning reporter Barbara Schroeder.
The event will take place on Sunday, May 5 at the Greystone Mansion from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to the public. Tickets are being sold online at www.greystoneconcours.org and feature access to the mansion grounds, food, beverages, fashion show, awards ceremony and much more. Tickets are being limited to 3,000.
