Posted by Melissa Simon on Sep 27, 2013 - 11:08:10 AM

BEVERLY HILLS—The Beverly Hills Fire Department (BHFD) is investigating a house fire that destroyed a mansion on Thursday, September 26.

BHFD Battalion Chief Craig Reinhardt told Canyon News firefighters were dispatched to the home at 1151 Wallace Ridge around 9:01 p.m. and they had knocked down the fire by 10:56 p.m.

“There was one minor firefighter injury and he has been treated and released from Cedars Sinai,” Reinhardt said. “There was a housekeeper home, but not the homeowners and there were no civilian injuries,” he added.

Reinhardt said they dispatched 10 engines, including four ladder trucks, two rescue trucks and four battalion chiefs.

“The fire was in our jurisdiction, but we received assistance from Culver City Fire Department, Santa Monica Fire Department, L.A. City Fire Department and L.A. County Fire Department,” he said.

Reinhardt said the origin and cause of the fire is still unknown and they are investigating the incident.

“The houses up here, especially on Wallace Ridge, can be pretty tight-knit. Beverly Hills fire could easily jump. BHFD doing a great job,” R. O’Brien-Bours tweeted while firefighters were fighting the blaze.

The home is reportedly worth $4.2 million, according to reports.
