Ehab Mohamed, an Egyptian native, started facing troubles as a surgeon back in 2010 when a female patient died on his operating table after an all-day liposuction procedure. The death caused the Los Angeles District Attorneys office to open a criminal investigation against Mohamed.
According to an investigation, Mohamed gave false information about his credentials and was arrested for trying to sell unauthorized medical equipment. He was sent to prison and detained by U.S. Immigration Services when they found out his visa had expired.
It was also reported that Mohamed recently withdrew his medical license, disabling him from practicing medicine in the state of California. Mohamed told the state medical board that he was in poor mental and physical shape and that his health affected his ability to safely operate on patients.
Currently, Mohamed is being held without bail by the Santa Monica Police Department for his latest criminal escapades. According to Sergeant Richard Lewis of the Santa Monica Police Department, Mohamed allegedly tried to open a bank account with a fake check.
