Posted by Camille Sarabia on Jul 17, 2013 - 11:37:37 PM

BEVERLY HILLS—Quadriplegic French fashion designer Lucie Carrasco will execute her dream project of crossing the United States, electric wheelchair in tow, on July 24, her 32 birthday.

Lucie Carrasco will conduct her US fashion debut starting from Los Angeles to other cities including: New York, Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia and Washington D.C., to launch her exclusive 2013 Couture Collection.

It is the 31 year-old Carrasco’s main goal to raise awareness for people suffering from physical diseases and handicaps.  Carrasco, herself, has a genetic spinal muscular atrophy, which prevents her from making use of some of her limbs.  According to her “Roll Forever!” website, Carrasco’s goal is “to raise awareness of the amazing aptitude and resilience individuals who are challenged with physical conditions possess and teach everyone that they can achieve all of their dreams, regardless of their circumstances.”

Her “Roll Forever!” North America fashion tour will start from Beverly Hills’ Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel and will include a red carpet fashion show.  This bash, occurring on Wednesday, July 24 will jump start her U.S. fashion tour around the country.

The designer plans an adventure to not only make her designs known in the U.S. and to work as a supporter for others with physical disabilities, but also to experience the states on her own.  Her website details that she is excited to see the Miami beaches, experience New Orleans, cruise up the Mississippi River and experience many sites that her road trip will offer.  At each stop, Carrasco will have meetings with her supporters and fans with book signings of her autobiography “Mightier Than The Disease,” and to serve as encouragement.  She will also pair with community organizations that purpose aiding people living with physical challenges.

Carrasco has gained many supports towards her cause.  She has started a donation campaign on gofundme.com, which has raised $365 out of her perspective $7,500 goal.  Carrasco’s celebrity supporters include: Eva Longoria, Shakira, Hilary Duff, Jane Fonda and Adriana Karembeu.

Lucie Carraso is quoted saying “No disease, or anything else will ever be stronger than the passion that drives us.”
