Police Search For Road Rage Suspect
Posted by Kyle Maloney on Apr 23, 2013 - 10:52:05 PM

BEVERLY HILLS—At approximately 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, the driver of a white BMW 328i, 2008 or later model, ran down a bicyclist in an alley in the 9000 Block of Wilshire Boulevard between Wetherly Drive and Almont Drive.

The BMW driver was caught on a street camera making a quick turn and then pursuing the bicyclist with intent to harm. The bicyclist, who sustained non-life threatening injuries, was purposefully rammed by the vehicle and pinned to a metal rolling trash bin.

What prompted the attack was a road rage incident involving the two traffickers at the intersection of Doheny Drive and Clifton Way.

The scene at the intersection led to the bicyclist punching the driver of the BMW in the face. Subsequently, the driver allegedly threatened to kill the bicyclist and followed him into the alley to make the attack.

The Beverly Hills Police Department is searching for the driver of the white BMW, labeling him an attempted murder suspect. The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern or white male, mid 30s, with dark hair, dark eyes and a thin build. The suspect's vehicle most likely sustained minor front end damage.

Anyone who has information that can lead to the identification of the suspect is urged to contact Detective Eric Hyon at (310) 285-2156 or the Watch Commander at (310) 285-2125.

Information can be provided anonymously by calling “Crime Stoppers” at (800) 222-TIPS (8477), or texting the letters TIPLA in addition to your tip to CRIMES (274637) or by using the website http://lacrimestoppers.org.
