BEVERLY HILLS—A historic mural, painted by the late Californian artist Millard Sheets, has been undergoing installation at the Rexford Drive entrance since Monday, February 25.
Rexford Drive Entrance Closed.
Rexford Drive entrance to the
Center parking structure will be closed for safety measures during the installation for approximately four weeks, Monday through Friday, with the exception of Saturdays and Sundays. Drivers can follow signs to the
Civic Center Drive entrance and exit until the entrance opens again.
The Millard Sheets mural is 15' x 31,' and was originally hung in the motor court of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel until it was offered to the city of Beverly Hills as a gift in 1987; it then sat in storage up until the present.
The mural contains a historic
California scene. The Public Art Fund has provided the funding for the installation of the mural.
