New Hermes' Store Opening On Rodeo

BEVERLY HILLS—The opening of the luxury brand, Hermes' on
Rodeo Drive is nearly complete after an 18-month highly publicized renovation period.
The Paris-based company opened its first
Beverly Hills location on
Rodeo Drive in 1972 and is still the only Hermes location in the
Los Angeles area. Located on
434 N. Rodeo Drive, near Chanel's perfume box designed structure, the store will open on September 4.
In honor of the opening, Hermes has designed a basketball, totaling $12,900 to mark the opening of the new 12,000 square foot store and to satisfy die-hard basket ball fans.

Hermes has long been a favorite of the
Hollywood scene with their silk and leather products. As of 2008, their products consist of leather, scarves, ties, men’s wear, women's wear, perfume, jewelry, watches, footwear, accessories and house goods. They are primarily known for their leather handbags, silk scarves and male cravats.
Before the opening, Hermes will host an "exceptional sale" featuring men and women's ready to wear items, shoes, hats and gloves from August 25 to August 29. Hermes received a wide amount of guests wanting a piece of Hermes Beverly Hills before the grand opening. Hours for the sale occurred between 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and only credit cards were accepted.
For the 18-month renovation, Hermes hired
Paris architect RDAI (Rena Dumas Architecture Interieure) for the designs and "new" Rodeo look. Complete with a lavish white marble spiral staircase leading from the main room to the "roofless" roof that is composed of a membrane air cushion hanging above a circular opening.
This location is state of the art and modern with a classic component. RDAI has designed Hermes' boutiques world wide. Walking into
Beverly Hills' new location will be similar to the original location in
Paris, but with an American twist.
Hermes will debut a swimming pool-inspired silk scarf line which will be featured in Hermes' new 2013 campaign: A Sporting Life.
