BRENTWOOD—A
girl who was killed in an accident did not die in a hit-and-run, as initial
reports had indicated. Police have found that both drivers involved had
remained at the scene.
LOS ANGELES—At approximately 11:09 a.m., Erik
Scott, part of the LAFD Staff Contributor, reported that there was a brush fire
near the Northbound 405 freeway.

AIR—A former state-licensed real estate appraiser has received a sentencing of three years in federal prison for her involvement in a mortgage fraud scheme.
BRENTWOOD—Philanthropist Doug Ring was found dead on Thursday, November 12. Ring was found in his Brentwood home and there are no reports of foul play.
BRENTWOOD—The Los Angeles Police Department issued a press release of a woman that died after being struck by a police cruiser. The cause is being investigated.
BRENTWOOD—After a year of anticipation, cyclists Ron Peterson and Christian Stoehr saw Dr. Christopher Thompson on trial once again for allegedly stopping his vehicle in front of the two cyclists.
WESTWOOD—Three UCLA students were arrested for a stabbing off-campus; two were released. All three students were remanded to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
WESTWOOD—Two suspects have been arrested who may be responsible for
stealing catalytic converters. The suspects targeted trucks and SUV’s because
they have easy access to the catalytic converters.
BRENTWOOD—Veteran movie character film star Karl Malden died on Wednesday, July 1 at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 97. Born Malden George Sekulovich on March 22, 1912 in Chicago, IL.
BRENTWOOD—Brentwood has converted its old meter parking to the "Park and Pay" system allowing people to pay with credit cards and add money through their cell phones.
WESTWOOD—Ernest Nelson was sentenced to 10 years, and more than $1 million in fines, for supplying private companies with human body parts from UCLA's Willed Body Program.
BRENTWOOD—Public displeasure over a planned expansion of Sunset Blvd. has brought the plan to a stop. Sunset Blvd. is one of the most storied and traveled roads.
BRENTWOOD—On May 24, an accidental fire broke out in an apartment building at 11666 W. Goshen Ave. near Barrington Ave. A firefighter and resident were injured.
BRENTWOOD—Dr. Jan Adams surrendered his medical license to the Medical Board of California. He is a well-known plastic surgeon, and has been on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."
BRENTWOOD—Firefighters found the body of an elderly male after they extinguished a house fire on Monday, April 13. The actual cause of the fire, and death, are still being investigated by officials.
Lynford Wiley was arrested and charged with a single count of possession of a fire arm on Kenter Elementary School's campus. He is now free on $500,000 bond, but he will be arraigned on February 19.
A burglar accused of breaking into the houses of exclusive neighborhoods such as Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades and the Hollywood Hills for the past three years has been arrested.
Ricardo Montalban became world famous as a Latin movie idol in 1942. Then in the '70s, he captured a whole new audience with his hit show, "Fantasy Island." Montalban died at the age of 88.
Police induce the help of the public to find a Brentwood realtor who has been missing for more than a week. Scot Wiliiamson, 48, was last seen outside of his home, and now, no one is aware of his welfare.
