Adele, 24, announced via her official website that she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki on June 29. "I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together," she wrote. "I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time."
Konecki is a former financier and co-founder of the U.K. bottled water company, Life Water. He heads Life Water's charity, Drop4Drop, which strives to bring clean water to developing countries. Konecki has been married before and has a child from the relationship.
In August, Adele squashed rumors that she had married Konecki by tweeting, "I'm not married...Zzzzzzz."
Adele has released two albums, both of which received critical and commercial success as well as earned the singer a total of eight Grammy Awards. Her second album, "21," earned her numerous titles as the first artist to sell more than three million copies of an album in a year in the U.K. and held the top position longer than any other album since 1985.
In October, Adele had confirmed she was writing and recording the theme song for "Skyfall," the 23rd James Bond film. The song, "Skyfall," was co-written and produced by Paul Epworth. The song was released on October 5 at 0:07 BST as part of "Global James Bond Day" and celebrating the 50th anniversary of the release of the first James Bond film, "Dr. No." The song has maintained a spot in the top ten songs on the iTunes charts.
