Adele To Perform At Academy Awards

BEVERLY HILLS—It was announced on Wednesday, January 23 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science that Adele will perform her Oscar nominated song, "Skyfall," at the 85th Academy Awards.

The theme song of the latest James Bond film is nominated for Original Song and was written by Adele and Paul Epworth. Adele also worked with Epworth on her 2011 album, "21," which has sold 27 million copies worldwide and earned her numerous awards.
“It’s an honor to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again,” Adele said in a statement. “It’s something I’ve never experienced and probably only ever will once!”
The British singer-songwriter has already received a Golden Globe for "Skyfall" It is the first Bond theme song to be nominated for an Oscar and it will be Adele's first time she singing the song live.
“We have enormous respect for Adele’s unique artistry as a songwriter and a singer,” 85th Academy Awards producers, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, said. “She is currently one of the most successful recording artists in the world, and we believe that her performance of ‘Skyfall’ will be an exciting Oscar moment for audiences watching at the Dolby Theatre and on television screens around the world.”
The Oscars will be hosted by Seth MacFarlane on February 24 at the Dolby Theatre.
