MONTECITO, Calif.—On a sunny Southern California day, reality star Kim Kardashian, from E’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” married New Jersey Nets forward Kris Humphries. It was a dream wedding, which Kris Kardashian, the bride’s mother, referred to as an American royal wedding. The beautiful Montecito estate is the same one where Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez planned to have their nuptials before ending their engagement and marrying other people. The estate and the couple hosted 440 guests in a private ceremony that seemed like a who’s who of Hollywood stars. Streets were blocked off for miles surrounding the affair in order to handle the security the Hollywood stars and famous athletes presented for the Santa Barbara police force, who could not have been more gracious.

Some of the guests included Lindsay Lohan, Scottie and Larsa Pippen, Dina Lohan, with her younger daughter Ali; both looked stunning. Disney star Demi Lovato, singer and songwriter Babyface, the bride’s designer Vera Wang, Cheryl Burke, Mario Lopez, Hollywood titan Ryan Seacrest and his fiancée Julianne Hough, who seemed to be taking notes for their upcoming affair. Alan Thicke, Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown, boxing great Sugar Ray Leonard, newlywed Maria Menounos, tennis star sisters Venus and Serena Williams, “Today Show” correspondent Kathie Lee Gifford, Brit Gastineau, Jillian Barberi, Brody Jenner, Avril Lavigne, Eduardo Cruz, “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria, Ciara, Carmelo Anthony and Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren.
Though Lindsay Lohan may have had legal and substance abuse issues over the past few years, she looked stunning today. Eva Longoria, newly divorced, seemed as though she was ready for love again, while Kathie Lee Gifford and Greta Van Sustren seemed to be in awe of the spectacular wedding event.
Stepfather of the bride Bruce Jenner walked his beautiful stepdaughter Kim down the aisle. She wore a beauty ivory custom-designed Vera Wang gown with full tulle skirt, basque waist and hand-painted Chantilly lace appliqué on the bodice and the gown’s train. The style maven even wore shoes by Guiseppe Zanotti. But Kim has previously said, “My dad will be a big part of my wedding.”
A nervous and handsome groom, Kris wore a stunning white peak lapel tuxedo jacket, blue tuxedo pants, white tuxedo shirt and a bow tie. His wardrobe was by designer Ermenegildo Zegna. The only surprise for me was that I expected a Harry Winston set of rings, but it was by Lorraine Schwartz, who also designed Kim’s $4 million engagement ring.
The wedding party included sisters Khloe and Kourtney as co-maids of honor, her younger Jenner siblings Kendall and Kylie, along with the groom’s sister Kaela, were all bridesmaids. Kim’s adorable 21-month-old nephew Mason Disick was the ring bearer.
All the groomsmen, including Kim’s brother Robert Kardashian, wore matching black peak lapel tuxedos, white tuxedo shirts and black silk bow ties, again all by Zegna, who also dressed fathers of the bide and groom, Bruce Jenner and William Humphries, in matching black peak lapel tuxedos, white tuxedo shirts and silk bow ties. Tonight Kim sported two more stunning dresses, both ivory colored, and designed by Vera Wang with Judith Leiber clutch.
Kris Humphries changed to look almost identical to his groomsmen for the reception. E! Network was there photographing the entire affair, which will air to the public on Sunday at 6 p.m. PST, while the two-part special titled “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event” will air on October 9 and 10 also on E!
Kim Kardashian is one of the highest paid reality TV stars in America. Her show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” also stars her sisters and regularly airs mom Kris Kardashian Jenner on the show. Kim’s father was there in spirit with the bride. She and her sisters were very close to their father, Robert Kardashian, who died from colon cancer a few years ago. Robert Kardashian was a longtime friend of O.J. Simpson, and he was part of the Simpson dream team - attorneys which won him an acquittal of murder charges in L.A. in 1995.
People magazine paid for the exclusive photographs of the bride, so look for those photographs to appear in this Friday’s upcoming issue. It’ll become a collector’s item for certain.
