Four Misdemeanors For Lindsay Lohan

NEW YORK—Lindsay Lohan, 26, hit the spotlight again with a third degree assault charge after allegedly striking a female at Club Ave in Manhattan around 4:00 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, November 29.

According to reports, a separate fight had broken out at the club on 116 10th Avenue in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood where patrons were rushing out to avoid the conflict. As a result of the commotion, Lohan and Tiffany Ava Mitchell, 28, bumped into each other. A hasty verbal confrontation erupted, which allegedly lead to the "Liz & Dick" star punching the other female in the face.

After the incident, Lohan attempted to dodge any encounter with police and by standers by slipping out of the club's backdoor but was identified by Mitchell and cops succeeded at blocking out the black Escalade that she tried to escape in. According to TMZ.com, she repeated in dismay, "Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me?" The two were brought to the New York Police precinct where she received a misdemeanor 3rd degree assault charge.

The other female, a Florida psychic, was free to go. According to reports, the palm reader had repeatedly offered free services to Lohan throughout the night at the club, which Lindsay apparently snubbed and responded to saying "F---ing Gypsy." It has been stated that Lindsay was feeling some animosity toward Mitchell because Max George, singer in the boy band The Wanted, was giving the blond psychic attention and acknowledging the star.

Nearly four hours after the arrest, she was escorted amidst a swarm of paparazzi, covering herself head to toe in a black jacket that she held over her head. Lohan is due in court on January 11, 2013.

This is not the actress’ first run in with the law. In September, the NYPD held an investigation where a man allegedly assaulted her in a New York hotel. These charges were eventually dropped. Her clipping of a car outside a Manhattan night club and a fight between her and her mother at her childhood Long Island home warranted New York Police investigation as well.

The root of Lindsay’s long-run battle with authority started in 2007 after being charged with drunk-driving and cocaine possession. Her arrest this morning may pose the threat of potential jail time as previous arrests have had her on and off probation over the last year.

After allegedly attempting to steal a $2,500 necklace at the jewelry store Kamofie & Co. in Venice in January of last year, she was placed on probation. Though it was lifted in May, the judge warned Lindsay to stay out of trouble. Despite such warning, there were allegations that she struck a Hollywood night club manager with her car. These charges were cleared, however, a car accident over the summer sent her and her assistant to the hospital has lead to today's misdemeanor charges.

The accident occurred on June 8th this past summer on the Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica. Lindsay claimed she was not driving the Porsche after it had hit the back of a truck. However, this was soon discovered to be false information.

Lindsay recently stared as Liz Taylor in the Lifetime movie "Liz and Dick" which premiered last Sunday. She is also staring in the Indie film "The Canyons," which is set to be released in 2013. The film is directed by Paul Schrader ("Raging Bull," "Taxi Driver") and was written by Bret Easton Hills ("Less Than Zero," "American Psycho"). According to IMDB, the film centers around “youth, glamour, sex and Los Angeles, circa 2012.”
