New Details In Actor Paul Walker's Death
Posted by LaDale Anderson on Jan 7, 2014 - 5:42:41 AM

SANTA CLARITA—New details have emerged on the death of actor Paul Walker who was killed in a car accident on Saturday, November 30, alongside his friend Roger Rodas. The coroner’s report reveals that the Porsche Carrera GT, in which Walker was a passenger, may have been traveling at speeds in excess of 100mph.

The report states “the driver lost control of the vehicle, and the vehicle partially spun around, and began to travel in a southeast direction. The vehicle then struck a sidewalk and the driver’s side of the vehicle struck a tree and then a light post.  The force of those collisions caused the vehicle to spin 180 degrees, and it continued to travel in an easterly direction. The passenger side of the vehicle then struck a tree and the vehicle burst into flames.”

The collision occurred on Hercules Street, west of Constitution. The vehicle was nearly split in half, with Walker located lying in a supine position in the passenger seat. He suffered charring on portions of his body that was so severe that his tissue could not be donated. He also suffered fractures to his right wrist and his left arm. The cause of death as stated in the report was “combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries.” He also had traces of soot in his trachea.

The actor’s death delayed production on the latest installment of “Fast and Furious 7,” which was originally expected to hit theaters July 2014, but has now been pushed to April 2015.  Walker’s death stunned many in Hollywood who went to Twitter and Facebook to express sympathy for the actor and his family. Co-star Vin Diesel released a photo on his Facebook page of the last scene that he shot with Walker for the upcoming film.

It was announced recently that Walker’s character Brian O’Connor will not be killed off in “Fast and Furious 7”; instead, his character will be ”retired". Walker is survived by his 15-year-old daughter Meadow.
