HOLLYWOOD—Four days after the 27-year-old’s stay in rehab, Lindsay Lohan sat down with Oprah Winfrey to discuss her past tribulations and plans for the future. “Oprah’s Next Chapter” aired on Winfrey’s television network OWN on Sunday, August 18.

The actress spoke candidly about her troubles with drug and alcohol addiction, saying alcohol “was a gateway to other things for me. I've done [cocaine] like 10-15 times. I think that's why I did it, because it allowed me to drink more. I snorted it. I've never injected anything other than getting B12 shots."

The actress and star of the movie “Mean Girls” also told Winfrey that when she first moved to Los Angeles around the age of 18 she wasted a lot of her money, didn’t listen to her family, and made friends with people who were only there because of Lohan’s celebrity status.

When it comes to her career plans for the future, Lohan said, “I have to regain the trust of people in my career.” She had several issues in the past with being late on set and difficult to work with. She says that “staying present and clear-headed and focused is the most important thing for me.” She also told Winfrey that one of the things she has learned from all of this is “how to ground myself. I don't need to go to outside things or places or substances to feel anything.”

Winfrey has also offered Lohan a docu-series that will air sometime next year.

Winfrey told Lohan during the interview, “We’re going to do more than an interview. I’m interested in this docu-series that we’re doing because I’m interested in your life being actualized in the way that you say that you want it to be. I’m really interested in seeing what that looks like.”
