"Two And A Half Men" Star Calls Show Filth
Posted by Ivetta Babadjanian on Nov 26, 2012 - 10:44:08 PM

HOLLYWOOD—Angus T. Jones, known for his role on "Two and a Half Men," urged viewers to stop watching his show and stated that he himself dislikes being a part of the show.

The video was posted on YouTube by the Forerunner Christian Church on Monday, November 26. "Please stop watching it; stop filling your head with filth. Please. People say it’s just entertainment," said Jones on the video. "Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to television, and especially with what you watch."

In the first part of the video, Jones admits to using weed starting in his junior year of high school and that he began acid in his senior year. During that time, he additionally had some run-ins with the law as he received several speeding tickets.

"I was just kind of on a downward trend, living for myself, really not concerning myself with family, anything outside of what was helping me out," Jones said. He states that he turned to his faith which helped him recover and that he plans to lead a different life style now that he is a born again Christian.

The 19-year-old television star has been on the show for ten years and signed a one-year contract when the show was recently renewed along with co-stars Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer. He is reported to be one of the highest-paid teens as he makes about $350,000 per episode.

"You cannot be a true, God-fearing person and be on a television show like that," he said. "I know I can't. I'm not OK with what I'm learning, what the Bible says, and being on that television show."

Jones released a written statement on Tuesday, November 27 apologizing for his previous statements.
"I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed," he said.

"Without qualification, I am grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on "Two and Half Men" with whom I have worked and over the past 10 years who have become an extension of my family."
