LOS ANGELES—The company that owns the Staples Center, Los Angeles Kings, and Los Angeles Galaxy is reportedly up for sale. The sale of the Anschutz Entertainment Group, best known as AEG, has the potential of being the most expensive sports transaction ever.

AEG also owns several other facilities, including L.A. Live, the Home Depot Center in Carson, the O2 in London, and the brand new Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, among others. AEG's assets also include the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the group is also a minority owner of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The biggest and most recent news from AEG, however, is the group's backing of bringing the NFL back to Los Angeles. AEG has made artist renderings of a potential football stadium built next to Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.
This sale, if it happens, will impact not only AEG, but all of Los Angeles sports.
