NEW YORK—On Monday, August 26, it was announced that New York Giants safety Stevie Brown will miss the entire season due to a torn ACL in his left knee. Brown suffered the injury during an interception return in Saturday’s preseason against the New York Jets.

Brown fell to the turf untouched at the end of the return, but quickly held his knee. Several members of the Giants reached out through twitter. Fullback Henry Hynoski tweeted, “Prayers go out to ”ª@StevieBrown27...both a great player and person...he will bounce back stronger than ever.” Wide receiver Rueben Randle also tweeted hoping for Brown to have a speedy recovery. The Giants were already without starting safety Antrel Rolle, who is recovering from a sprained ankle. Rolle is expected to be back by the season opener.

Brown had a team-leading eight interceptions last season and also had 307 return yards off picks. His season led the Giants to sign the restricted free agent for another year, bringing him back as a starter.
