Blackhawks Win Game One

CHICAGO—On Thursday, June 13, the Chicago Blackhawks took game one of the Stanley Cup Finals at home over the Boston Bruins. The Blackhawks are 1-0 in the series after winning a three-overtime thriller.

Andrew Shaw hit the game-winning goal 12 minutes into the third overtime ending as the fifth longest Stanley Cup Finals series. The Blackhawks didn’t score until the second period, which was made by Brandon Saad. Dave Bolland also scored for
Chicago during the third period in regulation. Johnny Oduya made the game-tying goal in the third period. Corey Crawford had 51 saves for
Milan Lucic opened up the game by scoring 13 minutes into the first period. He scored once again less than a minute into the second period to put the Bruins up 2-0.
Boston would score only one goal the rest of the game, which was by Patrice Bergeron six minutes into the third period. Tuukka Rask made 59 saves for the Boston Bruins.
The best of seven games series between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins will continue on Saturday in
Chicago with game two of the Stanley Cup Finals. The winner of this series will receive the Stanley Cup.
