Boston Bruins Sweep The Penguins

BOSTON—The Boston Bruins finish the sweep of the Pittsburgh Penguins to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. The Bruins won 1-0 at home to eliminate Pittsburgh.

Adam McQuaid scored the only goal for the whole game on both sides in the third period. Tuuka Rask grabbed the final shot in his glove as the buzzer sounded off to advance. The Bruins allowed the NHL’s highest scoring team, the Penguins, only two goals in four games. The Bruins shoot for their second cup in three years. Rask had 26 saves for the Bruins. The Penguins never led in the entire series.


Boston will advance to the Stanley Cup Finals against the Chicago Blackhawks setting up the first final match up of the Original Six NHL franchises since 1979.
