LOS ANGELES—Great excitement from the Los Angeles Kings winning their first Stanley Cup has encouraged community response to share in the enthusiasm and victory. As of Thursday, September 6, the Stanley Cup trophy will visit six local ice rinks.
The trophy can be seen at the Channel Islands Ice Arena in Oxnard, the Iceoplex Simi Valley rink, the LA Kings Valley Ice Center in Panorama City, the Ice Station Valencia, Pickwick Ice Arena in Burbank, and the Pasadena Ice Skating Center.
Fans will have the chance to take their picture with the Stanley Cup by participating in raffles at the ice rinks. The funds acquired will benefit youth hockey programs for the host rinks. Fifty photo chances will be given to each rink.
Each rink will have the Stanley Cup for half an hour. The appearance schedule is:
9:30 a.m. at Channel Islands Ice Arena
10:45 a.m. at Iceoplex Simi Valley
12pm at LA Kings Valley Ice Center
1:15 p.m. Ice Station Valencia
2:30 p.m. Pickwick Gardens3:45 p.m. Pasadena Ice Skating Center
