HOLLYWOOD—On Tuesday, June 18, the Los Angeles Police Department Hollywood Area detectives offered a $25,000 reward for any information that may lead to the arrest of a group of men wanted for assaulting a transgender woman.

Suspect seen wearing a white tee and black jeans

In a video released on Tuesday by the LAPD, the transgender woman, identified as “Vivian,” is seen walking on Hollywood Boulevard on May 31 at around 2:15 a.m. Before the assault commences, the footage shows the group of suspects following the victim as she walks down a relatively busy Hollywood Boulevard.

One of the suspects, a man seen wearing a white tee sporting the letters YSL (Yves Saint Laurent) and black jeans, begins the attack by striking the victim from behind. The initial strike causes the victim to fall to the ground and the man commences to repeatedly kick her while she is down.

The other suspects join the assault shortly thereafter. The attack lasts for a few seconds before the suspects run away. The incident left the victim with severe injuries and a week long hospitalization.

The LAPD Hollywood Area detectives have setup an email account at hollywoodcrimetips@gmail.comfor any individual that may be able to provide information on the assault.

Anyone with information on the assault may contact the LAPD investigators by phone at 213-972-2967 or 1-877-LAPD-24-7 during non-business hours and on weekends. Those with information also have the option to go to LAPDOnline.org, click on “webtips” and follow the prompts.
