“Fundraising walkers, get ready for a night of fun!” wrote AWLA on their Twitter page.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA); one of the nation’s largest AIDS non-profit organizations. According to their website, APLA is dedicated to “improving the lives of people affected by HIV disease; reducing the incidence of HIV infection; and advocating for fair and effective HIV-related public policy.”
The charity’s upcoming AIDS Walk Los Angeles event is
California’s largest AIDS fundraiser. Last year, 30,000 walkers participated and raised over $2.9 million for the cause.
