Roxanna Bear, 32, stayed at the actors home Tuesday night, but reportedly responded erratically once she was asked to leave the following morning. After the actor requested her to leave, Bear took hold of a kitchen knife and held Thomas hostage inside the home.
Thomas was able to free himself without injury, and call the police at around 1:09 p.m. LAPD’s SWAT department responded to the 2500 block of Hargrave Drive where they remained for the next six hours, as Bear barricaded herself in the home. LAPD used tear gas as well as flash bang grenades to remove the woman from the home.
Bear was arrested and taken to a nearby hospital at 7:30 p.m. where she was charged with felony counts of vandalism and a misdemeanor charge of exhibiting a deadly weapon. On Friday, April 19 Los Angeles Superior court Judge Upinder S. Kalra set Bear’s bail at $20,000 and ordered her to stay away from Thomas and his home.
Bear currently remains in jail, as she awaits her court hearing on May 3, where a judge will decide if there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial.
This is not the first time that Bear has faced problems with authorities, as she was arrested twice in February for trespassing at the Regent Beverly Wilshire, and again for public intoxication on
Thomas has not given an official statement; however he did take to his Twitter page on Friday to say, “That was a close one”.
