At approximately 4:45 p.m., a man entered the Hooters Restaurant on
Hollywood Boulevard across from the Chinese Theatre and allegedly claimed to have a bomb inside of his lunchbox.
The man exited the restaurant and left behind the lunchbox he had entered with, and the LAPD was notified shortly after. Hooters, along with other nearby businesses were forced to evacuate as the LAPD searched the parameters in the area.
The suspect later stated to police that the threat was not legitimate. Authorities arrested the man, who still remains unidentified.
This is not the first bomb scare the
Hollywood area has had in the past week as nearby KTLA news station had a similar incident occur on Tuesday, April 16.
