Emerson College To Open In January 2014
Posted by Chet Kincaid on Aug 5, 2013 - 6:22:44 PM

HOLLYWOOD HILLS— Emerson College recently announced that it is on schedule to open its newly built Hollywood campus, in the Studio district, in January 2014.

"The college is scheduled to open in January of 2014, but there will be an official opening in March where people can come in and take a tour. Students will take residency in January," stated Carole McFall, Assistant Vice President and Director of Media Relations.

Emerson College has been a part of Los Angeles since 1986, but has been searching for a permanent home for some time now.

M. Lee Pelton, president of Emerson College, stated the following as the three main commitments of the college: "To bring LA a unique academic experience, to become civic and cultural leaders in the community and to partner with LA industries and businesses."

The State-Of-The-Art Center, designed by Pritzker Prize-Winning Architect Thom Mayne, stands 10 stories tall above grade. On-site housing, social gathering space for the students and office space for Alumni relations and admission staff will be included in the 102,360-square-foot facility. This will also boost the enrollment from 100 to 220 students.

Emerson College's new Hollywood campus is nestled away along Sunset Boulevard and Gordon Street.
