Officer Nicholas Lee received a memorial star outside the LAPD Hollywood Community Station.

Officer Nicholas Lee was honored with the star as it was presented to his mother, widow and two young daughters in a ceremony that occurred in front of the Hollywood Community Station. Also in attendance were Captain Cory Palka of the Hollywood Division and Deputy Chief Terry S. Hara of the Personnel and Training Bureau.

Lee was killed on March 7 after a runaway truck collided with his patrol car at Loma Vista Drive and Robert Lane in Beverly Hills around 8:00 a.m. He died at the scene, and a female training officer who was with Lee in the patrol car was injured as well. She was released from the hospital the following day. Officer Lee was then laid to rest at Forest Lawn on March 13 following a memorial service at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. Lee was a 16-year veteran of the force who served in Van Nuys, Wilshire and in the Hollywood Division prior to his death. During his career, he had received over 70 commendations for his service.

According to CBS Los Angeles, Officer Lee was the eighth officer to be killed in the line of duty in the history of the Hollywood Division.

Also in attendance was a motorcycle club comprised of LAPD officers called the Choir Boys, who presented Lee's surviving family with a donation of $2,000. Residents can also donate to the family through the “Blue Ribbon Trust for Nicholas Choung Lee” at the Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union. To find out how to donate, residents can dial 877-695-2732.
