"Girls Gone Wild" Producer Convicted

HOLLYWOOD HILLS—On Monday, May 6, “Girls Gone Wild” video and magazine producer Joe Francis was convicted of misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment, assault and the discouragement of reporting a crime.

According to reports, Francis could face up to five years in jail.

On January 29, 2011, Francis met three women at a college graduation party at the Supper Club in Hollywood. He reportedly took all three women back to his home where evidently a fight broke out, resulting in him grabbing one of them be the throat and hair, and slammed her head on his floor four times.

Francis allegedly instructed the women not to contact the police, but immediately after leaving his home, the three women dialed 911.

The district attorney referred the case to the city attorney after declining to file felony charges.

Sentencing for Francis is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8.
