HOLLYWOOD—Australian born actor Hugh Jackman received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, December 13, after receiving both a SAG (Screen Actors Guild) and a Golden Globe nomination last week for his recent role in “Les Miserables.”

Jackman was introduced by Jay Leno and accompanied by co-stars Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried at the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of Madame Tussaud’s Hollywood where his wax “X-Men” superhero Wolverine was on display. Just hours after his Golden Globe nomination, the 44-year-old actor and producer accepted what is now the 2487th star at the Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.

Jackman is also known for his performances in the “X-Men” Trilogy, “The Prestige,” and “Deception.” The much-anticipated release of “Les Miserables” directed by Tom Hooper will arrive in theaters Christmas day. Along with Hathaway and Seyfried, the film also stars Russel Crowe, Sacha Baron Cohen “Borat," and Helena Bonham Carter “Fight Club,” “The King’s Speech" and “Sweeny Todd."

It was revealed this week that Jackman will be joining the cast of "X-Men: Days of Future Past." He joins Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender who have all signed on for the picture. How big of a role the actor portrays in the film is not yet known, it is expected to hit theaters in July 2014.
