HOLLYWOOD—Kobe Bryant visited Hollywood’s “My Friend's Place” on Wednesday, September 12, to announce that his charity would be assisting the organization. Bryant’s charity, the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation (KVBFF), helps raise funds, increase awareness for homeless youth, and improve services for “My Friend's Place.”
"My Friend's Place"
The startling realization that 7,000-10,000 of Los Angeles’ homeless are under the age of 24 struck the Bryant family as a catalyst for a needed change. “My Friend's Place” offers a place of sanctuary for 1,700 homeless teenagers from the ages of 12-25 years old.
The shelter offers physical, psychological, and intellectual assistance to hurting teenagers that have escaped abusive situations, abandonment, and neglect. The goal of “My Friend's Place” is to build self-sufficient lives for teenagers.
