Man Stabbed To Death, Suspect Arrested

HOLLYWOOD HILLS—Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Hollywood area officers arrested 22-year-old Julio Caesar Velasquez for stabbing and killing a man, according to the LAPD blog.

The victim, whose identity is being withheld until immediate family is notified, is described as a 29-year-old Hispanic male from Los Angeles.

Around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, September 2, officers responded to a call involving an assault in the 2000 block of North Highland Avenue. Upon arriving, officers found a man suffering from stab wounds. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Velasquez was taken into custody a short distance from the crime scene. The detectives’ investigation revealed that Velasquez was involved in a dispute with the victim in front of the Best Western Hollywood Plaza Inn when he stabbed him.

Velasquez has been booked for murder and is being held on $1 million bail.
