Nathan Lee Parada, 32, of Redlands, was found guilty of one count of attempted first-degree residential burglary with a person present, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
Police arrested Parada around 6:30 a.m. on August 24, 2010, after Hilton dialed 9-1-1 and reported a person outside her house. Parada, who allegedly was carrying two knives when police took him into custody, was booked a few hours later and held on $50,000 bail.
Parada is facing up to three years in state prison. He is being held at the Men's Central Jail at 441 Bauchet St. with no bail amount set.
Hilton is no stranger to trouble with the law. In 2006, she was sentenced to 45 days in jail for violating her probation after she was charged with a DUI. The celebrity heiress has since been arrested on numerous occasions for various crimes involving illegal drug and alcohol use.
However, this attempted robbery case is one of many crimes in which Hilton or her family members have fallen victim to thieves. In December of 2008, Hilton’s house was broken into and burglars escaped with an estimated $2 million worth of jewelry.
