HOLLYWOOD HILLS—During the late night of Monday, December 26, it took firefighters about 30 minutes to put out a small fire at a Hollywood Hills lot of land about one acre in size that spread to an adjacent shed. No one was injured.
The Los Angeles Fire Department was alerted to the small fire going on at 8145 Willow Glen Road at 8:07 p.m. Upon arrival, 60 firefighters confined the blaze at the 12,632 square-foot lot of land to a burned-out shed before it could spread by engulfing the light amount of brush around it. This took 34 minutes. Initial LAFD reports indicated that the fire was concentrated in the brush, but it was later clarified that no brush was involved.
The secluded lot of land is comprised of hillside trees, some light brush and cobble stones with a number of powerlines hanging overhead. It is directly across from a home at 8142 Willow Glen Road.
Built in 1922, the property is currently on sale for $575,000 as "perfect for the custom home builder or celebrity," a trulia.com real estate listing states. It is located half a mile northeast of Wonderland Avenue Elementary School past Laurel Canyon Boulevard.
