HOLLYWOOD—On Tuesday, January 15, police found and arrested the suspect accused of fatally shooting a man outside of a Hollywood nightclub.

Robert Earl Thomas III, 22, allegedly shot and killed a man outside of the Empire Club on Cahuenga and is being held in custody at a Las Vegas jail after authorities found him hiding out at a friend’s residence Tuesday evening.

Prosecutors plan to have him extradited to California to face charges for the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man outside of the club on Sunday, January 13. According to reports, a fight broke out inside and spilled onto the streets once the bar closed. Another man involved in the fight left with a bloody lip and another female, who may have just been a bystander, was shot in the foot.

Empire, most busy on the weekends, is an 18 and over bar with regular DJ hosts. While bouncers usually frisk patrons at the door, it is unknown as to how Thomas was able to sneak in a gun.
