HOLLYWOOD HILLS—On Wednesday, October 3 three teams of heavily armed officers arrived at the Hollywood Hills home of actors Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. The officers had received a phone call stating that there was a resident hiding in the closet from people with guns inside the home.
When officers arrived at the home on the 3000 block of Arrowhead Drive there were only employees to be found in the home and there was no visible threat. The prank is called, “swatting” where an anonymous phone call is made to the police in the attempt to have the SWAT team brought to the home.
Last August the same prank was made at Miley Cyrus’s home. By California law, anyone making a fake phone call can receive up to one year in jail.
These incidences can cause California taxpayers up to $15,000.
