Abilities Expo Comes To Los Angeles

The Abilities Expo has been assisting the disabled community since 1979.
LOS ANGELES—The Abilities Expo will be kicking off their first event for the 2014 year in Los Angeles from February 28 to March 2. The expo has been providing for the disabled community since 1979. The Expo starts at 11:00 a.m. during the expo weekend, and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, on Sunday the expo ends at 4:00 p.m.
According to the website, the expo provides those with disabilities insight into the new technology, opportunities, solutions and possibilities for the future. The event is meant for those with any sort of handicap, whether it is sensory, physical, learning, or a combination of disabilities, the expo serves to expose those who might need assistance to various state-of-the-art options. ASL interpreters will be available at the expo.
The Abilities Expo website explains that the event will be holding workshops such as, but not limited to, a “Working with Disabilities” workshop, which educates those with disabilities on what they are allowed to have in the work place to provide them with “reasonable accommodations,” as well as knowledge of the rights they are entitled to; as well as, service dog and travel tip workshops to provide an ease with traveling with a handicap.
The Abilities Expo will be traveling to seven places throughout
America during the year, starting with
Los Angeles, before moving to
Atlanta in mid-March, the NY Metro in May,
Chicago in June,
Houston in July,
Boston in September, and finally trekking to the Bay Area in November.
The Los Angeles Abilities Expo will be held in the
Los AngelesConvention Center in the West Hall A on
1201 South Figueroa Street,
Serving Bel Air, Benedict Canyon, Beverly Hills. Brentwood, Laurel Canyon, Los Feliz, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Melrose, Santa Monica, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Topanga, Canyon, Westwood & Hollywood Hills.
