LOS ANGELES—Quarterback Matt Barkley moved his total career touchdown passes to 102 as the University of Southern California defeated the University of Colorado 50-6 on Saturday in the Coliseum. Barkley threw for six touchdowns to become the Pac-12’s all-time leader in TD passes. USC dismantled the Buffaloes from the opening kickoff to improve to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference.

Barkley was near perfect on his record setting day, completing 19 of 20 passes and accumulating 298 yards through the air. His favorite target was Trojan wide receiver Robert Woods who caught four of his touchdown passes and set a school record for touchdown receptions in a single game. Woods now has the school record for career catches also, snagging eight for 132 yards on the day. Trojan receiver Marqise Lee and tight end Xavier Grimble caught the other touchdown passes from Barkley.

The Trojans took care of business early and built a comfortable lead, allowing their record-setting quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate to sit out the entire fourth quarter. Southern Cal amassed 313 yards and 33 points on offense in the first half against Colorado, who only managed two field goals on the day. The victory was the fourth straight win for USC since their loss to Stanford.  They continue to climb the national polls, currently sitting at #10 in the BCS rankings. The Trojans will travel to Tucson next Saturday to face the University of Arizona.
