HOLLYWOOD—On Tuesday morning, March 19, a SigAlert was issued for the southbound 101 Freeway in the Cahuenga Pass when a man’s body was discovered on the Caheunga Boulevard off-ramp at around 4:30 a.m.
Cahuenga Blvd Exit.

According to coroner Assistant Chief Ed Winter, the man, who was in his 30’s, died at the scene.
Even as details develop, police do not believe the man was involved in a traffic collision of any kind.

Preliminary investigation suggests the man accidentally fell or jumped onto the off-ramp from a high point of 30 feet, said a sergeant at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Station.

The California Highway Patrol reopened the off-ramp at about 7:30 a.m.
The death is still under investigation.
