Bomb Threat Evacuates Elementary School

LOS ANGELESR.D. White Elementary School was evacuated on Monday, January 7 after a bomb threat was made, according to authorities.

An anonymous bomb threat was called into the school shortly before 9 a.m. School officials notified police immediately and began evacuating students, said Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz.

Monday is the first school day since winter break, and according to Sgt. Lorenz extra patrols have been on hand since the December 14 elementary school shooting in Newton, Conneticut.

Police and fire officials tirelessly searched the R.D. White School building for any signs of explosive devices while the 880 students were being evacuated to a nearby Whole Foods parking lot. 

Parents pickted up thier children at the store located on Lexington Drive and Glendale Avenue after providing proper identification indicated Sgt. Lorenz.
