Celebrities Ride For Charity

LOS ANGELES—The Los Angeles Equestrian Center held The Celebrity Slide and Challenge Western Horse Show this past Saturday, a charity event where celebrities competed against one another for their preferred charitable causes.

This year’s competition boasted a celebrity roster that included country singer and songwriter Lyle Lovette; actress, model, and singer Bijou Phillips; actor and notable equestrian enthusiast William Shatner; stage actor Obba Babatunde; and comedian, writer and producer Brian Unger. 

Participants were required to show off their equestrian skills in the difficult sport of “reigning” where contestants run their horses at top speed and come to an abrupt sliding halt followed by quickly spinning in place.
